Spreading the alphabets

SPREADING THE ALBHABETS

Fnu foundation brings forward the Program “Spreading the alphabets” in which the members will be teaching the slum dwellers.

Week 1 and 2
The members will be split into groups and each group will be given an area in a slum where they will be talking to people and learning about their grievances. Members will also take pictures and shoot documentaries of the present conditions.

Week 3 and 4
Each sub-group will be allotted a subject and a group of children and they will be teaching them for the rest of the program. Each group will be teaching different set of children so that all children study all the basic subjects. All members will be given a curriculum which they would have to follow and our main focus will be Mathematics, English, Hindi and general sciences.

Week 5 and 6
Members will continue teaching the children and at the same time on every Saturday talk to an adult and impress upon them the various opportunities their children have for getting quality education. We will also talk to them about human rights and fundamental rights.

Is an not for profit organization formed with sole aim to engage today’s youth in actively participating in finding and implementing solutions to the problems faced by today’s world or may be problems which we will be facing in future such as environment, climate change, preserving bio-diversity, human rights, poverty, disease, education, promote gender equality, empower the less privileged in society etc.
Members of FnU will actively get involved in assimilating facts and data to identify and study the problems, work towards finding lasting and sustainable solutions and implementing them by creating awareness among the masses, run programs and campaigns to implement the programs for achieving its objectives.
OBJECTIVES OF FnU
FnU aims to take up various programs from time to time that may have social, cultural, economic, scientific and environmental relevance at any point of time.
The main objects are:-
To conceive, formalize, research, debate, publish, organize, promote, implement, manage, run, supervise, co-ordinate, affiliate, control, guide, train , net work and aid programs and schemes that deal with the following areas-

Eradicate Extreme Poverty and Hunger
• Achieve full and productive employment and decent work for all, including women and young people
• Improve the employability of people living below $1 (PPP) per day through education and training
• Improve Employment-to-population ratio
• Decrease Poverty gap ratio
Achieve Universal Primary Education
• Improvement of Net enrolment ratio in primary education
• Increase Proportion of pupils starting grade who 1 reach last grade of primary
• Improvement of Literacy rate of 15-24 year-olds, women and men
Promote Gender Equality and Empower Women
• Increase Ratios of girls to boys in primary, secondary and tertiary education
• Increase Share of women in wage employment in the non-agricultural sector
• Increase Proportion of seats held by women in national parliament
Reduce Child Mortality
• Decrease Under-five mortality rate
• Decrease Infant mortality rate
• Increase Proportion of 1 year-old children immunised against measles
Improve Maternal Health
• Improve in Maternal mortality ratio
• Proportion of births attended by skilled health personnel
• Access to reproductive health
Combat HIV/AIDS, Malaria and Other Diseases
• Halt and begin to reverse the spread of HIV/AIDS
• Access to treatment for HIV/AIDS for all those who need it
Ensure Environmental Sustainability
• Reduce biodiversity loss, achieving, a significant reduction in the rate of loss
• Integrate the principles of sustainable development into country policies and programmes; reverse loss of environmental resources
• Reduce Consumption of ozone-depleting substances
• Increase Proportion of fish stocks within safe biological limits
• Increase Proportion of land area covered by forest
• Increase Proportion of species threatened with extinction
• Proportion of terrestrial and marine areas protected
Improve living conditions for people in rural areas and slums
• Reduce by half the proportion of people without sustainable access to safe drinking water
• Achieve significant improvement in lives of slum dwellers
• Proportion of population using an improved sanitation facility
Human rights
• Spread awareness about the basic human rights given to one and all
• Spread awareness among people about the steps they can take if their human rights are violated
Against child labour
• Help in successful prohibition of child labour
• Spread awareness among the upper and middle class against child labour

To do and conduct all such acts and things that would further the object mentioned herein and would further the cause of the organisation or are incidental or conducive to such objects.

FnU may also, in any manner, undertake to carry on all kinds of advancement of any other object of general public utility and for one or more such public charitable purposes
